Owens Yacht Company was started by Charles Owens in 1930. They were located in Eastport, Annapolis, Maryland. Charles died in 1933. His three sons took over the business and moved it to the Baltimore shore. The first 30' Owens Yacht was shown at 1937 New York Boat Show.
